What is an Agentic Commerce Platform?

An Agentic Commerce Platform (ACP) is the infrastructure layer that enables AI agents to discover products, negotiate terms, and execute transactions without human intervention. AirShelf is the first purpose-built ACP — we don't just help you rank in AI search; we help you sell in AI transactions.

How is AirShelf different from AEO tools like Profound and Peec?

AEO tools like Profound and Peec are 'weather reporters' — they tell you if AI mentions your brand. AirShelf is the 'weather maker' — we are the infrastructure that lets the AI agent actually place the order. AEO tools provide reports; AirShelf provides revenue through APIs and protocols.

Do we stay merchant-of-record?

Absolutely. You remain the merchant-of-record and maintain full control of your customer relationships. Settlements continue through your existing payment provider — we simply enable the AI sales channel.

How does AirShelf integrate with my store?

AirShelf connects to your existing eCommerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) and creates an AI-ready version of your product catalog. We work with your current tech stack — no need to change payment providers or rebuild your store.

What AI platforms does AirShelf support?

AirShelf makes your products discoverable and purchasable across ChatGPT (via ACP), Gemini (via UCP), Perplexity, Claude, and custom AI agents. We support OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol, Google's Universal Commerce Protocol, and Chrome's WebMCP standard.

What is AI Shelf Share?

AI Shelf Share measures how often AI agents recommend your products versus competitors. It's the AI-era equivalent of market share — tracked in real-time across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI platforms.

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of optimizing content and product data so AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity can accurately discover, understand, and recommend your products. AirShelf provides the infrastructure for effective AEO.

What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) focuses on making your brand and products visible in AI-generated responses. Unlike traditional SEO which optimizes for search result rankings, GEO ensures AI models have structured, accurate data to cite your products in their answers.
